BB&T Bank in Glasgow, KY

I've been a client of this bank for over 10yrs. I took over my Grandmother's account upon her death. However, I've always had issues and am considering switching to the bank where I have my business account. More than once I've felt uncomfortable when discussing account balances during times of low income due to job loss etc. The judgmental attitude was obvious compared to times when our account balance was higher. It was as if lower-income clients are less valued. I can deal with such negativity and rudeness if my money is protected. However, I had closed an account to transfer to another new account. I was told the transfer was final and when it would clear. I later checked the balance and saw only HALF had cleared. Upon inquiry, the bank lady had allowed my spouse to withdraw half despite being HOURS AFTER my initial transfer. How is that possible and is it even legal?!! I should've pursued it, but at the time was unable to afford a lawyer. I've also had bills clear early, despite pending paycheck resulting in overdraft charges which are expensive at $36ea. They say it's all automated though. Other than this, I've not had any issues with the tellers or phone representatives. Online banking is where they shine and the reason I've not yet switched. It's intuitive, clean and well designed. Never buggy, though often inaccessible late at night for maintenance and updates.
