Clerks at the North and South Branch do not give you your change at the drive throughs when you make your loan payments. They do this withouth your permission and have a handful of excuses such as most people pay more than the loan amount (making you feel like a minority) They say your car window was up so we couldn't ask you so they take in on thereself to determine if and how much over the loan payment you are paying. They repeatedly do this to us. When we ask for a manager they say, "are you serious" or "they are all out to lunch" When you do reach management or someone higher up they say the same thing. And I quote, "Most of our customers pay more than their loan amount." And they say please be advised there is a note on your account you only wish to pay the amount due. The note has been there all along. And so what if most customer pay more. If we are a minority who cares. What you guys are doing is WRONG. So think again before choosing this bank because this is what you are in for. They have done all of this after we have told them we only wish to pay the loan amount that is due each month, and they volunteerd to put a note on our account saying this months ago. Who does this. What clerk needs to write a note saying that. Anyone knows you do not take more than someone owes without their permission. Anyway so they write thereself a note on my account and either read it and don't pay attention or don't read it all. Then they act like it is a choar or somehow my fault that they have to redue the transaction they created on there own with the amount they wanted to make it. They make you feel like something is wrong since you are not paying over the amount due. You deside it you want to bank this. I just don't get it. We started going to the South Branch to pay thinking sureIy they won't do this at both places. And I have to say the first time at the south brand a nice lady did it right. But the very next time we went there they take more money and don' ask and have to redue everything. I am 51 years old and have NEVER had a bank do this. AND AT BOTH BRANCHES! You decide if you can deal with that when choicing a bank. Just wish someone would have wrote a review before I picked them. I can see this happening if I added them onto my loan but this is my loan and they can't say how much over I am paying and repeatedly at that. Negative Star Rating for Afena! Update today 3-1-13 I receive a letter in the mail from Marion Independent Credit Union saying they are deducting Life Ins from my account. So I google Marion credit Union and low and behold it is Afena. I never signed for life insurance on 2-8-13. In fact we were out of town that day. And we just have a car loan with Afena . We don't bank there (thank God) our mortagage is not with them, and I have life Ins. with someone else. Anyway Afena marion Federcredit Union would be last last place I would do anything with after my experience with them. So how are they goint to deduct life insurance I NEVER signed for. Are they going to take it from my car loan? The made up life insurance policy they dreamed up in my name. WARNING Afena also gave out my personal home phone number and people car selling life ins. and say they got my personal number from Afena. Thanks for all the trouble and all the headache AFENA. Your just swell

The people I have talked to about say they are affraid to leave honest reviews because they have to deal with these people. But it is wrong for a bussiness to do what they are doing and someone has to speak up. People I have talked to say they are affraid to leave honest reviews. Nothing but good things to say! Jason, Stephanie, Steve and Sarah have always treated me well and called me by name.

I have nothing but good things to say about this credit union. They have always been helpful every time that I have interacted with them. They are often times more flexible than they need to be. The 2 times that I have overdrawn my account they haven't even charged me an overdraft fee as long as I put money in my account quickly. I feel like most other banks just watch your account hoping you will overdraft so they can charge you a fee. I don't think the other review on here is accurate at all. Sometimes people in this area have very bad attitudes and I feel like she was blaming her bad day on anyone that she could. Even if they did what she stated, from my experience they would have been more than happy to make the situation right. And as far as the life insurance being taken out of her account without her knowledge I feel like she should do a fraud alert on her credit report because that doesn't sound like Afena's fault that that happened. The only downside to Afena is that they don't support financial tools like Mint or Quicken. If they would change that then they would be the perfect place to do your banking.
