Personal Finance Company in Bloomington, IN

We recently purchased a couch and loveseat from Thompson's Furniture (Bloomington, IN) and chose to finance this purchase (90 days same as cash). The company Thompson's uses for financing is Personal Finance Company, LLC in Bloomington, Indiana. After receiving a phone call from this finance company to verify the purchase (which was slightly unusual) I knew there was something questionable about this company. Yesterday (3/11) I received a statement/bill from Personal Finance Co. The monthly statement was dated 3/9/2009 and the DUE date listed was 3/13/2009 (!) I know of no other company that includes such a short "turn around" time to pay .... there was also an asterisk (*) indicating "interest/late charges calculated only through the due date" ... so our "balance" listed for $1657.00 worth of furniture was $2044.00. Obviously, this is the amount of money if we would owe if only the minimum balance is paid each month ... Many finance companies operate this way (which is no surprise) except this company issued a bill and expects payment within 4 days .... I will never do business with Personal Finance Company (Bloomington) again. Needless to say this was quite disturbing. We will be visiting this office tomorrow to pay off the balance in full. This NOT the way to do business. I also plan to visit the furniture company as they may not be aware of how this finance company operates ....
