As a first-time home buyer interested in obtaining an FHA 203k loan to purchase an old fixer-upper farmhouse, I needed a lender who was patient, kind, knowledgeable and available. After working with a loan officer at PrimeLending for about a month, I found that he had none of these qualities. On several occasions he left me hanging for up to 3 days with no response to my inquiries. Further, on more than one occasion he verbally reminded me that my loan amount didn't have a return on commission that would normally be desired. How professional. I took a risk and relieved this loan officer of his duties 3 days before the expiration of my financing contingency. I'm happy to say that with my new lender (BankSouth), I found the necessary qualities I'd been seeking all along. No question went unanswered, and even though they were very late to the game, we even closed on time. The only recommendation I can give regarding PrimeLending services is to stay away.
