A post was created on Facebook of a lot of silver plated items. The entire lot was posted for $500, however I was only interested in some of the items as I would be using them as centerpieces for a wedding. I contacted Mandy regarding the post asking if she would piece the items out as opposed to the entire lot. She encouraged me to come into the store where we could choose which pieces we'd be interested in and they would create a price from there. Today, My mother, friend and I drove the 30 minutes to their store where we proceeded to go through the 4 boxes of plated silver items. While still sorting through the final box, the owner hovered and scoped the pieces I was choosing. After choosing about a box and a half worth, the owner proceeded to pull some of the most beautiful pieces from my pile claiming he needed 'something interesting to add to the rest of the pieces to make it appealing'. He saw the look in my eye as he pulled my favorite piece, which had a matching miniature version to go with it. After the battle of which pieces I would receive, he proceeded to weight the items to give me a price of $250.00 - half of the original post's worth (Remember, this was less than half of the items posted. Plated silver is not worth $5.00/lb. I understand that this is a business and a profit must be made to survive, however a bird in the hand is worth more than two in the bush. You can rest assured that we will never step foot back in this location.

Asked Rob for a quote via eMail. He promptly responded. Took my coins to him the next day. We inventoried and he issued a check for an agreed upon amount. No hassle. Very professional organization. He is not giving the store away but he is offering fair amounts in a volatile market. I will be pleased to give him an opportunity to bid on future coin lots.
