Everyone needs to know your checking account security is compromised here. Suncoast allowed over 170 checks to clear my account that were not signed, only initialed. What makes matters worse, the person who initialed these checks is not even listed on the account. The credit unions attorney Ben Felder stated to me in a letter this was my problem, not theirs. How can it be my problem, they are the ones who cleared all these checks. Obviously a signature card means nothing to these people and from what I was told, it appears any one could sign or initial your checks and Suncoast will honor them. I feel the world should know what has happened here so people can re evaluate their using this bank. FYI, I have 100% documented proof of all I have said. Suncoast has it to and they have no rebuttal or resolution to the issues they have caused. I am going to spread what has happened here all over the internet as well as contact Eight on Your Side. Their answer to me on this is , I am responsible for who signs my checks. How can this be? I am not the one who honored them. I would not recommend these people to anyone. I am removing my money from this institution after over 30 years of banking with them. If they think I am going to drop this, their wrong. I am going to plaster this issue everywhere I can so people will know their money is not safe here.

Obviously as with any financial institution, be proactive and keep an eye on your account. Don't do like Dr. Oblivious there and let 170 checks clear without questioning why you don't have as much money as you thought you did. (That is an impressive number, considering how many checks come in a box of checks.) That said, I've never had a problem with them and never had to really worry about unexplained charges on my account. Service is usually great, though I normally go to one of the Tampa branches.
