Financial Federal Credit Union in Miami, FL

I deposited $50 to open a checking account, which was the minimum required. I kept receiving emails and letters asking me to sign up for Online Bill Pay, and even though I was doing free internet banking with a different bank, I filled out the form and signed up. I didn't realize that there was a fee of $3.95 per month because that was not clear from all the advertisements! That charge was deducted from my checking, and that was the beginning of a vicious cycle that has ended in me having a balance of -$1.44 in this account! The Credit Union refuses to refund any charges (they began charging me about $5 per month for having a balance under $50) even though I called as soon as I found out that the Online Banking cost money. A few months ago they apparently sent a letter telling me that I was automatically enrolled in something that cost $1.95 per month, and if I didn't want to have this money deducted from my account, I NEEDED TO SIGN A LETTER AND MAIL IT IN BEFORE A CERTAIN DATE. It's my understanding that this kind of forced selling is illegal; it is at the very least highly unethical and that's how I feel about Financial Federal Credit Union. THEY ARE HIGHLY UNETHICAL. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON-EXISTENT. They have been rude, condescending and smug each time I've called and tried to get all this straightened out. They have even flat out LIED to me. I'm stunned at how badly they treat me, when they've behaved in less than ideal ways.

This is the WORST banking experience I have ever had. Please do not bank here. BTW. For the previous reviewer with the $3.95 fee, they are socking me with a $25 a month "inactivity fee". I can't close my account until I get a lien situation resolved but you know I will be as soon as I do.
