I was there at 7:30 am come to find out the lobby opens at 8:00am .. not a big deal if your not a SHIFT WORKER!

As most Americans, I can't stand the new chip readers. When I signed up with US Bank in Sept of 2016, they didn't give me a chip card and I was quite happy about that. I knew that it was only a matter of time until I got one though. A few months later, I received my chip card. I didn't want to use it, so at my next visit to my local US Bank, I asked the tellers about activating it. They told me I didn't have to activate the new card until the old one expired, which should be in August of 2019. Satisfied with that and my overall experience with US Bank thus far, I went on my way normally until today. I had a very important lunch meeting set with two gentlemen today to discuss business, and when i went to pick up their meals, my card declined. I was certain I had enough money in it, so I told them to try again. Declined. Luckily I had cash or else I would have looked like even more of an @$$ in front of my colleagues when I would have had to ask them to pay. After lunch, I called US Bank and found out that they deactivated my card. Why? Because I hadn't activated the chip card yet, so they decided to do it for me, when they had already told me I had until August of 2019 to activate it. US Bank is supposed to be one of the most customer service based banks in the nation, and if this is how they treat their customers then I don't want any part of it.
