Phil Long Honda in Glenwood Springs, CO

A few months ago we bought a used car from Honda Dealership in Glenwood Springs. We chose to purchase from a dealership specifically because there can be risks in buying a used car, and we wanted a certified pre-owned vehicle that had been through a complete and professional inspection. We paid over $17,000 for a Acadia GMC with the expectation that the vehicle was fully inspected and was worth the cost. However, we hadn't owned it for LESS THAN MONTH before we began to have issues. The dealership refused to take responsibility, and they wanted to charge us more for fixing a car they apparently sold to us in poor condition. The car needed a brand new transmission (which was fortunately covered under the warranty) but we also paid money out of pocket (upwards of $1200) for additional service and parts. We would have been more than willing to work with the dealership, but they were exceedingly rude to us. They seemed to have an attitude that they didn't need to bother with being polite or making the situation right, since they had already made the sale. Additionally the dealership's mechanics were not helpful; they didn't know what was wrong with the car so they send us to GMC dealership. We haven't been able to use the car for almost two months now--but of course we're still paying for insurance, and we anticipate there may be further costs for repairs. Overall we are incredibly disappointed by our experience and absolutely would not recommend you give them your business.

I filled out a trade-in value form at 6:30pm and got a call a few minutes later. We set up an appointment for the following day and I successfully got to test drive several cars. Tom Lawley was fantastic. The car I left with is the first car I've had on my own. I can't imagine a better experience. Tom made sure I was comfortable and answered all of my questions during the process. Mike, the Sales Manager was really wonderful too. Heather, who was just filling in from the Springs, was really great during the paperwork process. This entire crew stuck their neck out for me and made sure I went home with a smile on my face and an amazing new car. Formerly High Country Honda, this dealership has recently been purchased and opened as Phil Long Honda. I live in Golden. This dealership is in Glenwood Springs. But I found the vehicle I've been looking for on their website. The price was excellent, the Carfax was clean, and I was very willing to purchase the vehicle sight unseen. The only problem was the 150 miles between Golden and Glenwood Springs. I called and spoke with Brad in sales. Brad, by the way, was totally top notch. I asked Brad if I purchased the car, could I go to the Phil Long Ford store in Lakewood to do the paperwork - then I would only have to figure out how to get the vehicle from Glenwood Springs to Golden. Brad said he would ask his manager and call me back. He did, and he told me he could do one better than that - that they were already delivering a car to Denver today, so he would come with the caravan and deliver our vehicle straight to our home, and we would do the paperwork when he delivered it. Understand that this wasn't a high end vehicle I was purchasing. It was a 16 year-old Jeep. With 110,000 miles. I was paying less than $8,000. And, both Brad and the General Manager of Phil Long Honda together delivered my 16 year-old Jeep to my home in Golden. No extra charge. Tell me that's not 5-star service! Lest I create unfair expectations, I should emphasize that I'm pretty certain the dealership doesn't offer routine delivery to Denver. I was simply fortunate that they were already bringing a vehicle down today. But they still had to deploy another employee for a full day to extend me the extraordinary courtesy of delivering my vehicle. That's really going the extra mile, or in this case going the extra 300 miles (150 miles each way,). Thanks Phil Long Honda - you guys are aces in my book!

Five star experience! I live in Denver and they had my desired new Honda in stock. Tom and Mike in Sales were extremely courteous and responsive. We agreed everything beforehand, they emailed a detailed price breakdown and everything was honored in person. They picked me up at the Amtrak station (breathtaking train ride!) and had all the paperwork ready. No surprises and Joe in finance wrapped things up without pressure. Research your vehicle, know what you want and let Phil Long Honda make it happen!!

Seriously, my best experience at a car dealership. I'm 34 and bought my first car at 16, so 18 years of car dealership experience. I brought my CR-V in for service, first time at Phil Long Honda, and Alex was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and gave me a call back exactly when he said he would. He also went out of his way to make sure I was fully informed of the options I had available, both at the dealership and outside the dealership, and to make sure I was comfortable with making any decisions on my car. I have never had such an amazing experience at any shop, let alone a dealership. This place goes out of it's way to make sure you know they care about you, the person. I highly recommend anyone that wants a car or needs service to go here, it's obvious to me that you will never be taken advantage of and they will go the extra mile to make sure you are taken care of. A++++ kudos to Phil Long Honda and Alex in the service dept :)
