We worked with them to purchase our second home and went with Alterra due to our realtor recommending them. If you have other options don't use them!! Our first time using a mortgage company to purchase a house and was an interesting one, yes they pre-qual you in matter of hours. But once you have your pre-qual takes longer than normal to get everything in line. They did work their butts off to help us close on time, but only after our mortgage rep did nothing and we complained and only worked with the area/branch manager till we closed. And a month later after all the headaches they sold us to a JOKE of a mortgage company - Capital Mortgage Services just to push us off and not deal with us anymore. We will NEVER use Alterra again! I suggest if you have other options to research them and steer away from Alterra.
