Provident Central Credit Union (San Jose Community Branch) in San Jose, CA

I went in here and tried to open an account for my mom and found this place to be horrible. Why would you want to open an account at a bank that requires you to pay a $10 membership fee? Thats so freaking ridiculous, I mean with so many options why would you be dumb enough to do that. Also, horrible customer service here. Assistant Branch manager Ken was talking to me like I did not even speak English. I mean come on, I am asian, but I was born and raised in California and have my graduate degree. Also, because my mom lives with me and I take care of all the bills, they wanted 2 forms of ID with her address. I told them my mom lives with me and that I pay for all the bills. Then he said he couldnt help me. Stay away from stupid banks like this. Personally, I like credit unions because I have an account at Star One (which I love). This one was closest to my house and hoped for good service but it sucks. STAY AWAY.

Absolutely horrible. Their ATM took my check and gave a "cannot be processed" error. After I and several others went in to complain, the clerk's only response was - they were out here yesterday... Out of all the credit unions in the network, this is the most incapable branch I've ever done business with.

Atm is usually always working

I've been a member here for several years. They've always been friendly and competent with me, no problems. I don't get the negative reviews but I think they are the exception to the rule.

Great staff, courteous & helpful. Ernesto a genuine "bank teller" provides great customer service, and friendly image. Khan's Nguyen is an awesome personal account officer, who goes above & beyond her call of duty. She's help me with loan application and good advisor etc...
