I had a mortgage with 1st United Services Mortgage Department. I sold the property. The payoff loan officer sent the payout document (for closing escrow) to her own fax number instead of the fax number of the title company that was the requested phone number. The title company called 1st United Services Mortgage Department for 3 days in an attempt to speak with the payoff loan officer. The title company was unable to reach the loan officer on the phone and no one returned the calls. When I went to close escrow, there was no payoff document. I had to personally call 1st United Services general number (they only give you one generic phone number to speak with anyone) and convince the operator that this was an emergency as I would lose the close of escrow and possibly lose the sale of the property and possibly be sued for breach of contract. Fortunately, the operator put me through directly to the loan officer who accused the title company of requesting that the payoff document be sent to the 1st United Services Credit Union's own fax number. This was not true. The loan officer sent the payoff document as a room full of people was waiting for the delayed document. The Escrow officer of the title company showed me a document which was the original request the Title company made to 1st United Services Credit Union to request the payoff document and it clearly showed the correct Fax number of the title company was given to 1st United Services Credit Union Mortgage Department. After escrow closed and my loan was payed off, my mortgage no longer existed with 1st United Services Credit Union, my monthly mortgage payment continued to be transferred to 1st United Services Credit Union because the loan officer failed to request of the sending bank that they cancel the monthly transfer. I spoke with the loan officer who handled the payoff and she erroneously told me that my other bank had to cancel the transfer of funds. After going back and forth from the 2 banks, someone in 1st United Services Credit Union local branch personally called the Pleasanton Mortgage Department of 1st United Services Credit Union and discovered that they were not aware that the loan officer entrusted with handling the closing of the loan did not inform the supervisor or the loan department of the errors she had made. Supposedly, it has been fixed, but I don't believe anything anymore because the new employee did not consult with her superiors when there were problems with the closing of my mortgage. I will never get another loan with 1st United Services Credit Union and I will tell people what happened to me. Employees need to be trained properly and if they fail to do their job correctly or are unsure of how to do it correctly, they need to seek assistance from their superiors. This has been a horrible experience and has cost me a lot of wasted time.
