Caught in a never-ending loop of customer mis-service. No one is even there to pick up the phone to tell me they don't know. Simply reprehensible. Couldn't they use those billions of dollars of bailout money to hire a phone operator?

Let me start off my saying that I have been a customer of One West Bank (Indy Mac) for several years. I was never late on a payment. I was a victim of Hurricane Sandy and suffered damages to my house. After a couple of months my insurance company finally sent me a check for the damages of my home. Your bank was listed on the check as a lien holder so I had to have it endorsed by your company. Your company told me they had to send down an inspector to check to see if the work was done. The inspector found it done 100%. The inspector told me and so did your staff that they will send me my check in about 3-5days after the inspectors report. That was about a month ago. I have called several times after that to get the same result. They tell me that the check will come in 3-5 days. Finally I spoke to someone and they admitted that One West Bank was negalant by not sending me my check 3 days after the inspectors report. They told me that they were going to send me my check over night at One West Expense. And that was 2days ago and still no check. I called again today Feb.28,2013. and now they tell me that it will be sent out overnight in about 3 -5days. What is going on!!!! It is costing me interest on my charge card every day for the money I had to lay out to have my house repaired. I think One West Bank is taking advantage of Hurricane Sandy Victims........Bad enough we had to suffer from this tragedy....To me that is not the way to treat a good customer...Or anyone in fact. My next step is going to have to consult my local media and air my laundry about how your company is treating their customers...I think it is a Horrible!!!!

My experience with the personnel at the Marina Del Rey branch has always, with one or two exceptions, been very favorable. In January of 2013, however, a major blunder on the part of the bank has caused concern. I received a letter from the bank that one of my three checking accounts was overdrawn. The return address on the envelope was Santa Monica. This was very disturbing in light of the fact that I maintain large balances in my primary account. The other two accounts are merely conduits through which receipt of money pass through for record keeping purposes. A review of my three accounts revealed that the account claimed to be overdrawn was my Attorneys Client Trust Account. I contacted the bank and was advised that I had failed to keep the required minimum balance in the account and there had been a $15.00 per month service charge taken out of the account by the bank the since November of 2010. I had received no notice of the fact that the bank was taking $15.00 per month nor any monthly statements. The amount in the account as of November of 2010 was $195.75. the bank took all of it by way of monthly service charges without my consent or knowledge. the first notice consisted of the letter from the bank in January of 2013 that the account was overdrawn. I am still in the process of having the bank restore to the Clients Trust Account, the $195.75 that they have taken by way of service charges each month since November of 2010 without notice to me. Had I received notice, I would have immediately put a stop to it. Fortunately the money in the account did not belong to a client or I would be subject to suspension by the California State Bar Association. The matter is taking much too long to resolve. I have expended a substantial amount of time talking to bank representatives and writing letters to no avail.

This bank was founded by now possibly the US treasury secretary, Steve Mnuchin, appointed by President Donald Trump. During his time at Onewest, he purposely forclosed on customers homes, specifically those owned by old people. He even at one point kicked out a 90 year old woman out of her house for being twenty seven cents short of a payment. Before Onewest, Mnuchin was a key figure of Goldman Sachs, one of the culprit organizations of the sub-prime mortgage crisis which led to the great recession. When Mnuchin was working with Sachs, he engaged in offering customers mortgages that were clearly too expensive for the buyers, and he would bet on those offers to fail. Gary Cohen, another key figure of Goldman Sachs is also a nominee in the Trump cabinet.
