HomeStreet Bank in Downey, CA

I wish I could give this bank 0 stars. It has switched from Simplicity Bank to HomeStreet Bank over the weekend. During this time I could not access my bank account online t check funds. I have not been able to access my account since 4/9 Thursday, it is now 4/13 Monday and I was locked out of my account. I have tried calling customer service but the number does not work. I emailed them this morning at 8am and 6 hours later I still have not heard back. Very frustrating. I will be going down there today to close out my account and sign up with a different bank.

I am disappointed with HomeStreet Bank. They're customer service isn't as caring as it was when they were Simplicity Bank. I've been banking with them for years and Simplicity has always been great with understanding and addressing my concerns. Any request I had, Simplicity did their best to accommodate it if they could. Any issues I had, Simplicity was on top of it and fixed it as soon as they could. HomeStreet is less caring, less understanding, and basically ask you what YOU would like them to do even though they won't do it.. According to their staff. They're mobile app is HORRIBLE. Takes close to a minute for it to finally allow you to enter your password and username. After doing a mobile deposit, NOTHING becomes available. When Simplicity was around, 200$ would become available after a mobile deposit.. Even the majority of banks allow a certain amount to become available after a deposit, but not this bank anymore. If HomeStreet continues to be less caring, unorganized, inattentive, and over all excuse me for saying this.. but if they over all continue to show that they don't give a shit, neither will I and I'll bank elsewhere. One of the "managers" at their headquarters actually kinda encouraged me to close it after I told her I wasn't satisfied with their service and I was close to closing my account with them. Haha okay then :) Great way of doing business.

The staff in Downey and Pasadena have always been very kind and accommodating to me and more importantly, my father! On numerous occasions have taken down the walls that other banks put up! My father will be 91 in a few days and remembers the good ol days of community banking where you were more than an account....you truly were an asset! I know banking has changed with impersonal online attention. When you do call, you don't know even know where you are calling and they definitely do not know who you are, or your needs....you are a number! Not at HomeStreet , Simplicity, Kaiser Federal....have been with them for over 15 years! Thank You HomeStreet for the service and especially taking care of my father with the service of yesteryear ! Truly appreciated! ~ e
