Bank of the West in Compton, CA

An asolutely horrible bank. For the sake of your benefit, take your money elsewhere. Employees are also very rude.

I've had an account here for years and I've never had an issue until today. The branch is under new management and the new staff has absolutely no regard for their long term customers. I wrote a check for my mother to cash (she's also a bofw customer) and the bank refused to cash the check. Not because there wasn't any funds, not because I have a history of writing bad checks but because "it was out of character" for me to write a check. At least that's what the cs manager said when I spoke to them. I understand that there's a protocol you have to follow but the way the staff went about this was wrong. The attitudes they had were unacceptable. They weren't courteous and they treated my mother like she was attempting to commit fraud!! She's had an account there longer than I have had mine and she goes into this branch regularly and the treatment she received from the staff was terrible.
