Vantage West Credit Union in Tucson, AZ

If you want a credit union that will take your money and treat you like a suspicious character when you want to cash a check or withdraw money, then this is the credit union for you. My husband has been a member of Vantage West Credit Union since the 1975, but last week, when he went into the Vantage West Credit Union at 801 E. Speedway to cash a check from his employer, he was denied any cash back. They told him that because it was over $1000 that there would be a three to five day hold on the money. He asked them to call the issuer of the check and they did. However, the company was closed for the day. The issuer was his employer --a company in business since the 1950s. He stated that he has his paycheck automatically deposited from this company and has a home equity loan with Vantage West Credit Union, as well as his membership loyalty. They did not care. He asked for the check back after telling them that his relative had recently closed out an account with Vantage West Credit Union and took their money ($50k +) to Chase Bank. They didn't care about that either, but they were stunned. We drove over to our Chase bank. We walked in, filled out a deposit slip, asked for cash back and he had his money within 4 minutes! Oh, yeah, and the teller at Chase Bank bantered and laughed with us, hoping we would have a great day!

DO NOT USE THIS BANK THE STAFF IS AWFUL AND INCOMPETENT YOU SHOULD TRY TO BURY YOUR MONEY OR USE A SHADY QUICK CASH SHOP THEM BOTHER WITH THIS UGLY STAFF THEY HAVE DENIED TO CASH MY TAX RETURN FOR THE LAST TIME.

Wouldn't trust this bank. Having problems with everything.

I had the pleasure of working with Heather. I recently moved to Tucson and absolutely dreaded transferring banks. Heather made the switch stress free and even enjoyable. I look forward to working with her in the future and using this bank.

I have banked with VantageWest ever since the recession, which prompted me to pull all my accounts out of corporate banks. My wife and I have received good service at this location, with one exception: the PopMoney money transfer feature. I hope that a VWest executive is reading this, because the unbelievable frustration created by this buggy, clunky and unrealiable feature is costing you customers. If I wasn't such an ardent supporter of credit unions, my wife would have long pulled all our accounts and moved them over to Chase. PLEASE FIX THIS. Thank you.
