OneMain Financial in Flagstaff, AZ

Avoid giving them your business at all costs. I took out a $2000 loan for some vehicle repairs through them. While going over the paperwork they were courteous and helpful, but not very knowledgeable. Over the life of the loan I would have ended up paying over $1000, which seemed absurdly high to me. Neither the loan officer or the manager of the branch were able to satisfactorily explain where that interest amount came from. That should have been my first clue. I ended up paying off the loan WAY in advance. The first month after that they still deducted my automatic payment amount, nearly double the minimum. I called a few days later and they insisted I needed to fax or e-mail a copy of my bank statement to prove that the money was deducted from my account. Any half decent financial institution should be able to looks through their records and see that they did or did not take money from an account. The next day, before I could get a bank statement to them, I had a check in the mail from the corporate office. That was fantastic until the next month when they did it AGAIN! The guy I spoke with failed to disable the automatic payment when I called them. This time I didn't receive a check from the corporate office and this branch insisted that I had to provide a bank statement. So I had to be inconvenienced because of their mistake and out of money that I was rightfully mine. I was charged outrageous interest for borrowing money for them. They did seem to care that they had basically stolen money from me. Any financial institution that can't tell you where their money is coming from or going to shouldn't be in business. You've been warned!

I kept getting their ad's in the mail and I decided to give them a call to possibly get a consolidation loan. I spoke with Amy Taqffloola, who said she was the Branch Manager in Flagstaff. After giving her quite a lot of personal data, she asked for proof of income. "No problem", I said, "What is your email address, I can scan/email". "We don't have email addresses". What?!!! This got me thinking to research this company! What kind of financial institution does not give their employees email adddress!! I don't want my data sitting on a fax machine! .... I got real concerned and asked her to not process anything. I am currently researching this company. Looks like they are fairly new. As of today, I see quite a lot of hiring going on within their organization. Growth? Turn-over? After reading the other review - I have decided not to pursue this organization. They look to be shady or at the least - junior to the financial world! Added note: I just contacted their fax number - just out of curiosity - it is a non-working number!!! RED FLAG!!!!

After receiving several letters from this company I decided I would check them out. With an APR of over 30% on a loan of $1,500 (which is the minimum they would finance) despite a good credit score I decided not to get a loan with this company.The staff at the Flagstaff branch wasn't able to explain why their interest rate was so absurd. Also, having to deal with a rude loan officer (Michelle) was a huge turn off. If your working with customers you need to be more careful with your tone of voice & body language. Even if the APR had been reasonble, just having to sit & try to speak with this lady would have changed my mind. Maybe theres a reason her previous employer let her go? Either way, uninformed & rude staff is a clear sign to everyone to avoid this business.
