Absolutely love banking with New Horizon! So much in fact, I've since convinced my children to open accounts as well. They are very happy as well. Friendly, courteous, knowledgeable staff. We have no complaints! I'm impressed!!

First time I EVER went into a credit union. I'm used to walking into any big bank and they ask how can they help me, I tell them what I need and they direct me to wait for an account rep or whatever. HERE they do not do that, and there is a sign in sheet to talk to anyone in the offices. That's not the problem really, the problem is that new customers would likely not know that this is the protocol. I sat down expecting someone to offer me help as that is the norm in banks for me. Never was even talked to or said 'hello' to. I saw there were several other people waiting to see someone in an office, so I was patient. After about 10 minutes I told the lady in the office closest to me (who did not have customers at all..) that I was new and just wanted to open a savings account. And she just says 'oh there's a sign in sheet up there, you're supposed to sign in,' like I'm supposed to know that. They did not have a "sign in here to see people in the office" sign or anything to that effect. Once I finally got into the office, the lady was I guess training another lady, but they BOTH were acting like they were super annoyed to have to talk to me. Like frowning the whole time and not making any attempts at friendly conversation. I tried to say something positive, no change in expression. I ended up opening the account anyways. The next couple times I visited, I had pleasant experiences, but there are a lot of people who would have chosen to take their business elsewhere if they had to deal with that on the day they're wanting to open their account. This specific credit union is just the most convenient for me.

Don't use the mobile app to take a picture of your payroll check and deposit it because they put a two day hold on the check no matter what the amount!!! Make sure you go inside or go through the drive-through and deposit it!!! And they don't refund any overdraft fees, ever!!! This bank is living in the stone ages. They just got the mobile phone deposit app last year. Horrible customer service!!! I thought credit unions were supposed to be better and more reasonable than the bigger banks? They all just see you as a number!!!
