Scott's Jewelry & Pawn in Alabaster, AL

For the second straight time I have gone to Scott's, both times with legitimate items, I have been turned away ultimately because of their "expert jeweler". The first time I brought in antique flatware (92.5% pure silver). Each piece had *International Sterling* stamped on them. Which is as good as (929). I was told that the flatware was fake, and turned away (International Sterling means 92.5% pure silver) The second time, (today), I brought in a Rolex. The gentleman up front took the watch to their jeweler, and said it was a replica and turned me away. I then took it somewhere else and they opened it up and the last time I checked, the inside does NOT say "Perpetual Rolex" or anything Rolex for that matter. This ostensible, "expert jeweler" is a complete joke and a farce. *BEWARE*, the jewelry department of Scott's Pawn might as well be walking around with their eyes wide shut.

It’s silver plated, and mostly worthless." Just because it says silver, does not mean its silver, thats day 1 info in a pawn shop. As for a questionable Rolex, There is an entire multi billion dollar industry built around the replica watch trade, specifically the more common brands like Rolex. There are some remarkable pieces that could actually be a good watch under its own brand name but instead fraudulently bare the Rolex brand name. If your watch was turned away I can assure you it was because it was either obviously fake or we just couldnt verify it to our satisfaction and thus could not justify buying it. We appreciate your business and apologize for any issues we might have caused you. However, these kinds of items have been our business for well over 20 years and we are confident in our ability to test, verify and research every item from every customer. Ive been their customer a few years now. Please remember, they're in business! And yes, they answer their phone UNLESS they have dozens of customers waiting in line. A simple suggestion: try calling back! Also, I especially like the layaway plan, EASY!

We like this chain. However, this particular location is a group of cheapo guys that make you feel stupid and poor for needing help.

I love the layaway plan, it's very helpful. They do have a lot of guns, but not too much of anything else. Staff is nice. Pretty nice place to shop.
