They get illegal and start asking for your children's money. They have illegal collection practices. Warn those young ones never to give their children's social security information or hand over your children's PFD rights to them. Their workers are trained to pry on stupidity.

Owing debts suck! They suck so hard! My collections agent was extremely helpful, talked to me about the debts and repayment options. He provided me with login information for their website to make payments easily online. Some months my payments were more than other months, but continuing to make a payment each month and staying in contact with your agent works best. I know that a collection agency is always "the bad guy" ... but in this case, they were the nicest bad guys I've ever had to deal with!

Terrible place to deal with. Didn't even know about this debt until after it was with Cornerstone (helps crooks). It was an oversight with GCI (crooks) on my final bill when I moved out of state and without warning Cornerstone immediately put it on my credit report.

I have been a customer of Cornerstone for about 10 years now. I am a merchant. If I have a customer who does not pay me then Cornerstone will go to bat for me and collect the unpaid debt. I appreciate that. They also process credit cards for me and I have always experienced very good customer service. I can see that there would be mostly bad reviews seeing that people don't like to be sent to debt collections. As a debt collection service they are working for someone else...it's the business against the customer. If the customer has an issue and doesn't want to pay the bill they need to speak with the business (owner if possible) and discuss it with them BEFORE it gets sent to collections. I have customers who don't want to pay but if they don't call me to discuss their situation and ignore every bill I send then I don't have much of a choice but to send them to collections. I don't want to do it but what choice do I have? I'm sure there are times a business is wrong to send someone to collections, but if the business is small like mine, it can generally be worked out... especially if the customer is willing to be kind and not yell at me regarding their bill.
