Jim Hoge from Seattle Mortgage Planners guided us through a mortgage refinance on our North Seattle home. After having a few bad experiences with mortgage brokers, it was very nice working with Jim. He spent several hours of his time talking with my wife and I in person, over the phone, and over e-mail to explain all of the steps in the refinance process and why now was a good time to do it. With his help we were able to decrease our interest rate, remove our private mortgage insurance, and get some bank incentives with very little hassle on our part--after all was said and done our out-of-pocket expense was ~$500 and we now pay ~$250 less per month. The whole process took 45 days or so, but required very little time on my part, as Jim took care of pretty much all the legwork. All I had to do was sign some things, and get some bank and tax related information. I will definitely use Jim again if I ever need another mortgage!
