PennyMac is terrible to work with. If you are looking for a company to do business with I strongly suggest going somewhere else. I am a general contractor and have had to deal with them several times on customers behalf and it is always like pulling teeth trying to get them to promptly release funds that are due to the homeowner after experiencing insurance related storm damage. If the home owners insurance company adds tPM to the payments issued, they will deposit the money hostage in their own acct and collect interest off of it while making the customer and contractor jump through hoops to the get the money released. They are incredibly unorganized and if you call them 3 times about the same thing you will get three different answers...

My name is Chelsey Plunkett. My husband and I are late 20's working members of society. I am also a full time student working my way through nursing school.  I am reaching to you about my experience with Penny Mac Loan Services. They have carried my husband and my loan on our home since we bought it. This home was our first home to purchase and was very exciting. We both work 40+ hours a week and strive to keep our home nice. We have always been on time with our payments and been in good standing with our payments.  Penny Mac has since day 1 continue to mess our loan up. They have continued to make errors on our account that has cost my husband and my self additional payments. The most recent incident has me in fair that it could negatively impact us purchasing our new home.  In Jan of 2017 we started the process to go to split payments (half the amount of the payment every 14 days). The first split payment should have started in Feb of 2017. One day at work in Feb I received a call stating our payment was pass due. After many hours on the phone talking to them I found out that the lady who was helping when I made the payment (to activate our split payment) applied the amount to principal instead of applying it as a payment. At the time this seemed to be an easy fix.  My husband and I began to sell our home at the beginning of Mar 2017. We seemed to have everything in line to proceed with selling our home. While in the process we found out that through Penny Mac mistakes they lowered our credit score to the point that i fair that we will be  unable to  go through the process of purchasing of a new home. In Jan of 2017 our principal balanced showed to be $110,*** and in Mar of 2017 our principal balanced showed to be $112,*** which lowered our credit by 3 points.  When I called Penny Mac to find out what they could do to correct their mistake they stated to me they could not help. With the discussion Penny Mac recognized that this was their mistake and that they were sorry for the mistake.  What can you do? I feel powerless and like I have been taken advantage of. I feel like everytime that I have tried to resolved any issues with them Penny Mac has always stated that with "another" payment (from me) the issue can be resolved.  Thank you,  Chelsey Plunkett

This company has made my home owning experience a living hell. They have continued to mess with my mortgage. I have tried to make the move to split payments and since then they have taken payments and not applied them to our loan. NOW my credit score has randomly dropped 3 points I looked further and they did it again and messed up my loan. I have spent the last three months on the phone with them trying to resolve issue after issue. The best part is that now I'm on the phone with them again this morning for some random reason my principle has gone up 2000 dollars. The are take advantage of their customers.
