I have to say that I am throughly impressed with the level of service and professionalism I received from Evan. I am a single mother of 1, I started the mortgage process about 9 months ago with my local bank I jumped through hoops to get the information that was required from me, two days before my closing date my loan was denied. I was mortified, through the advise of my realtor I contacted American financial. They where amazing!!! I was able to close on my home in under 30 days! They where efficient, thorough, informative and professional. They treated me with respect and were 100% honest with me through theentire process ( much different then my local back who kept me in the dark and didn't return a phone call) I have since recommended American Financial to my friends and family and will continue to do so. American Financial is a company who puts their core values into everything that they do and ensures that their clients are put first. Dishonest...unprofessional....uncaring....I wouldn't use them finance a cup of free water. I do a lot of mortgage business and this has to be one of the worst companies ever. This isn't sour grapes...and as a borrower, we had a significant down payment, high credit score and 25 years on the job. We were buying a condo that was in excellent condition....this lender missed multiple closing dates....caused unbelievable amounts of stress...cost us a large amount of money....we finally asked them (AFTER THEY MISSED OUR INITIAL CLOSE DATE)...GIVE US THE DAY YOU CAN CLOSE...NOT AN ESTIMATE...JUST PICK A DAY AND TELL US YOU WILL MEET IT....THEY GAVE US A DATE...AND THEY MISSED THAT DATE TOO!!!!!!!!! We finally said you need to tell us why you aren't closing as the sellers are going to back out of the sale if we can't convince them we will close. They said the reason they haven't closed yet....THE OWNER DOESN'T LIKE DOING CONDOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You read it right....THEY MISSED SEVERAL CLOSING DATES BECAUSE THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY DIDN'T LIKE CONDOS!!!!!!!! Finally, they also raised the interest rate just before closing basically giving us a take it or leave it ultimatum....so we were forced to take it.
