Whoever "Jane" supervisor is needs to take a customer service class. She argued with me regarding that she mentioned my mortgage increase was due to increased taxes which is a total lie. If so I wouldn't have called back several times inquiring or sent in money for the escrow shortage. To top it off when you leave a message with your number to call back no one does. James B. Nutter may need to start screening their phone calls because I wouldn't recommend them due to their poor customer service.

My customer service experience was extraordinarily good. The phone was answered promptly by a human being, I was immediately transferred to a human being who understood my question, was courteous and knowledgeable and able to answer my first question immediately. I had a follow-up question after doing some calculations, called back, and the same excellent service happened again. No automated voices. No run-around. Competence and courtesy. I complimented the second customer service rep on my extraordinarily positive experience as a whole. She told me that the average tenure of the staff was probably about 18 years on the job and she had been with the company for much longer than that. I commented that it is important to bring in young people and train them to do as good of a job as the older, experienced employees. She made an interesting observation that it is now difficult to find young people willing to do this job at all, and (I am now paraphrasing) those who are willing to take the job frequently seem to be constitutionally incapable of doing it well.

I heard you can rent to one of your children and not be in violation of the agreement in place with a Reverse Mortgage. Is this true, just curious.

I was able to refinance quickly at an incredible rate. Great customer service. Payments are easily made online. They have modest offices and low overhead. They service the loans in house, which has become a rarity in the industry. Bundled mortgages that were sold and resold are what ruined the economy in 2008. Stick with a hometown lender that is honest. James B. I refinanced a home with James B Nutter back in 2012 and a good experience. It was easy, fast and only cost me $200 to refinance. I then decided to purchase another home with James B Nutter and it was a horrible experience. They lost documents, I received misinformation, they were rude to my realtor, we both felt like we were getting the run around on multiple occasions. Then, once I closed on my new home (note, this is my primary residence and I got a loan specifically for a primary residence), they would not change my address to my new home without an additional signed letter from me. All the documentation to purchase a primary residence wasn't enough? Also, while I was in the process of purchasing a new house, my mom was in the process of refinancing her house with James B Nutter. She went with James B Nutter based on my recommendation when I refinanced the first time. She ended up having a horrible experience as well. James B Nutter lost her documents, she were given misinformation, the interest rate lock was lost due to James B Nutter losing her loan paper work (which will cost her thousands over the life of the loan) and James B Nutter lost her money! My mom refinanced to pull money out and it took 4 months for her to get paid even though James B Nutter told her it would take 1 month. I don't think I'll ever do business with this company again. Out of 3 transactions my family and I have made with James B Nutter, only 1 was good. It makes me think the 1 good transaction was an accident. Last, you will not receive monthly statements and there is no way to look at your loan details online. The only way to find out information about your loan is to call.
