Preferred Credit Union in Grand Rapids, MI

very disappointed in these crooks , canceled my account and credit card with them , they still send statements and a new credit card. closed my accounts almost a year ago due to missing money. took the loss and moved, I really dont think they should be floating credit cards around with my name on them.

These guys are crooks , they few you to death . I put a few hundred dollars in there a few years ago , n opened a line of credit visa , rewards on that were terrible , they continued to fee me until they got it down to 9.95 , finally made an inactive acct fee for 9.95 to get it all , I've since cut up thier cc as well . Much better places , with lower rates, less fees , and better customer service. They don't like people like me that pay their credit card bill off monthly. Hope they go broke.

I went in to cash several checks. They said I couldn't deposit a check made out to cash. I spent 15 minutes trying to explain that its a very common thing. They did not believe me, they went on to ask me how long I had been with their union. After I told them three years they said that they would trust it more if I had been there longer. WHAT? I ended up leaving and calling their main branch to file a complaint. Instead of apologizing the teller did not defend me, saying I was wrong. But then they called me an hour later, after I was home, and told me that depositing a check made out to cash is perfectly fine. So unprofessional. They never apologized. Very rude, unprofessional union, with very few branches.

From Grand Valley Co-Op -> Preferred Credit Union, these people have been great. I have been an account holder since 2005 here. Their interest rates are low on loans and modest on savings, customer service is fantastic, and the services they offer are expansive. Currently I hold Checking, Savings, Christmas Club, Vacation Club, PCU Visa Credit Card, and a small personal loan through Preferred. I have nothing but great things to say abou this company! 5 Stars from me.
