I can't believe companies like this get to deceive Americans with absurd and inaccurate commercials about "rocket" mortgages (implying speed and ease). I have had over a dozen mortgage loans in my life and the most difficult, troublesome, and unnecessary hassles came from Quicken in Michigan. Layer upon layer upon layer of minutia and endless requests, and sneaky fees worked in to the process totally unrelated to the close. They want you to pay them to be involved in the process - incredible! Unquestionably the longest, most draining, and most uncaring approach I've ever had to endure. I make 6 figures and have 800+ credit .. how hard can it really be to process? A local bank can handle this process for me with no issues whatsoever. NEVER AGAIN! Stay AWAY from Slowen (or Quicken as they like to falsely suggest).

7/21/16 After multiple phone calls with my current mortgage holder, Chase, I was told that I cannot refinance with them because they have a minimum $50,000. I've almost paid off a 30-year loan in the 6 years since I bought my condo so my balance is under $50K. Feeling disappointed to miss out on the low rates everyone keeps getting around me, I hopped online and looked up Rocket Mortgage by Quicken Loans (I'm always hearing their commercials about how easy it is: "a click of a button"). Seriously, it was that easy. I entered some basic information and then was able to chat online with representative Darrick Ervin. He approved my refinance, lowered my current interest rate by over 1%, switched me to a 15-yr fixed, and lowered my monthly payment by about $50. I paid $500 to Quicken for an appraisal that I'm very much looking forward to next week. Home values in my area have doubled since I purchased in 2010. That money will eventually go toward closing costs. So far everything has been easy and painless. Which is how it should be, right?! I also spoke briefly (online chat) with customer service professional Ashley Webb, who I thought was just as friendly and professional as Darrick. It's nice that if you need to leave the web chat, you can log back on later, and request that they connect you to the person you were originally working with. Saving money should be exciting, not exhausting - and I'm excited!

REALTORS & BUYERS BEWARE AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! We're dealing with them now. If not for being 30days in to our 40 day purchase contract term, we'd drop them. The rates and closing fees you're quoted after being pre approved are complete deceptions! It's a total scam! We're a week from closing and they've discovered a way to add 3k to the cash to close quote. We're completely dumbfounded! My biggest regret, is not listening to my realtor, when he warned, he's had numerous deals fall through because of QUICKEN at the last minute. We're so frustrated with this we could scream! I'm definitely going to report them to the CFPB, their deceptive practices must be stopped. Rates change daily, it not by chance they use bait & switch tactics with qualified applicants, to get qualified applicants off the market; then, 30 days later (when rates have increased significantly), they begin adding money on closing cost. We were approved by three other banks, when we accepted quicken(Quoted unbeatable rate & closing cost). Now our other applications have expired, the seller may not want to extend contract, and rates have gone up. I HATE THIS COMPANY! I advise, if you don't take heed(as I didn't), and fall for the low rate/low fees ploy, you should download every document from MyQL (documents portal) for your records to use as proof for lawsuit. That's what we've done to prove case with CFPB, and possible lawsuit.

Once you get past the mortgage loan officer, the process goes right downhill. Be careful when you lock because if rates go down, you are stuck. They'd rather just close out the loan process than to work with you. Never mind the fact that they will keep your $500 required for an "Appraisal and processing fees". Quicken is like a huge bureaucracy and has MANY people stepping on each other's toes and do not take instruction well at all. They also do not know the rules for your own state. My suggestion would be to use a local loan officer. This was a lot of work for nothing.

An amazing place to work. Continuily focused on improving the client experience... Everything we do focuses on increasing efficiency while moving that technology needle to the max. Couldn't recommend a better mortgage company for people looking to purchase a new home or refinancing an existing property.
