Bill Holt was the loan officer who helped my family purchase our first home in Baton Rouge. Bill was very thorough and upfront about the entire lending process. We were able to close within 30 days of making an offer on our house. Very satisfied!!!

A coworker of mine referred this company, with reservations, for a mortgage on my new home. After nearly six weeks of their staff fooling around I gave up and went back to the mortgage broker who originated my previous mortgage. I would not recommend this mortgage company.

My experience with Victoria Blough has been less than desirable. When I didn't qualify communication all but ceased. There seemed to be a lack of knowledge in terms of how I can better position myself to qualify and certainly a disconnect.

Jamie Taylor at Assurance Financial was extremely helpful and diligent in getting me approved for a home purchase loan. My house in Baton Rouge flooded with close to 6 feet of Amite River water on August 13, 2016. Rather than repair the house, my wife and I decided to use our insurance claim check to pay off the mortgage, then sell the gutted house to a real estate investor, and use that money as a down-payment on a new house. So in early October, we made an offer on a new house in Walker with a 45-day window in which to close. Surely, we thought, we would have the insurance check by then. We already had an investor lined up to buy our flooded house as soon as we paid off the mortgage with the insurance check, so we were sure we’d have the money in time to make the down-payment on the closing date. Well, like so many others, we came to learn that the process of getting a flood insurance check was a lot slower than we expected, and we would not get the check in time for everything to work out as planned. And we were desperate not to miss the close date and have the deal fall through, because with the fast-growing demand for un-flooded houses, we were sure another buyer would be ready to jump in immediately and buy the house if we were not ready to close on the closing date. We ran into several obstacles during the process, but each time Jamie was ready with a solution. She didn’t give up on us and re-worked our loan paperwork 3 or 4 times to get us approved at a down-payment we could afford without depending on FEMA/NFIP to come through with the insurance check on time. We were able to make our close date and move into our new house about 2 weeks BEFORE we got our insurance check to pay off the old house and sell it. Dealing with the flood, with FEMA/NFIP, with trying to sell my flooded house and buy a new one was the most stressful experience I’ve ever had. But Assurance Financial, and Jamie Taylor in particular, helped me and my family get back to a normal life in a new home. And when we showed up at the title company (Gulf Coast Title) to close, they told us that they loved working with Assurance Financial, because unlike many other lenders, they always have their paperwork properly prepared, fully completed, and sensibly organized so that the closing process is smooth and there are no problems discovered at the last minute. Needless to say, I would highly recommend Assurance Financial (and Gulf Coast Title, BTW) to anyone looking to buy a new home.

Jamie was very helpful. I can't think of anything more she could have done to make our lives easier as we went through the home buying process. I would highly recommend.
