I've had a great experience since opening my account 2 years ago. A majority of my banking is done online, and I have had great success with the mobile app for iPhone. Beyond online banking, the credit union offers very competitive rates. I'm glad I made the switch.

This is quite literally the worst institution I have done business with. I signed up because they had a competitive credit card rate, and to get the card I had to open an account. Fair enough. However, when I wanted to check a balance on the card and called the number on the back of the card, I was connected to a skeezy vacation cruise vendor! I tried the online number, but the number listed for credit cards ONLY goes to a cancellation service. Then I tried the main phone number. Those folks are an off-site call center and could answer only the absolute most basic questions--could not process a transfer, etc. From here it only got worse. This descended into countless phone calls asking for a new card with the correct number (never received!), a balance transfer that was processed incorrectly, a website with broken and old links, promises from Lane, the head of customer service and oddly the only person I've ever talked to at the actual bank, to fix things that were never followed through on. I finally got frustrated and closed the account and credit card, and received a confirmation of the closure. Imagine my surprise when, several months later, I start receiving statements again! After another round of trying to find a working number and various phone calls (I got to talk to Lane again, yay!) I was told, oops, sorry, we must have canceled the credit union account but not the credit card account--sorry about that! I've now been told that everything is closed but I still get endless junk mail from them, as well as direct mail at my federal work email address. Not only can I not believe this place is in business, they have a close relationship with my employer. Please, please, stay away!! Don't just take my word for it--try for yourself to find a branch phone number, call the after-hour number they have listed for credit cards that only connects to lost or stolen card service, try to navigate the phone tree for the 1-800 number and see if this is the way you want your money handled.

I've banked with traditional banks and although some better than others I've never felt like I been more than a number. Since forming a relationship with the DOIFCU I know what it's like to be a valued member (with ownership). Beyond the rates and services I have been able to share the wealth with my family. After my father-in-law passed, my mother needed assistance to balance the emotional but also the financial changes to come. She went to several banks for lending needs and was turned away. I told her about my success with the credit union and she joined. It was there that her lending needs were met. We both are very satisfied and found no other reason to bank anywhere else. If you are looking for exceptional services, rates and customer services with a relational cased culture, this should be your bank.

Cannot beat the value. Great loan rates, outstanding repayment plans. Does not nickel and dime you for every activity. I've got a low rate cc and had multiple car loans. Saves me a lot of money$$$...
