I can't remember how long I've had my checking acct through Bank of Internet, but the acct type has been "grandfathered" if that's any clue. Originally got acct because bcuz my brick-n-mortar bank wanted to charge for internet banking whereas BOI not only gave free checking acct, but free access via internet, paid me interest AND paid for bill mailing when snail-mail was the only option. My experience is completely positive and don't know how the person who gave one star could truthfully feel that way. I have always had very good customer service with them.

Absolutely love this bank. Have been with the 6 months, they cash my deposits same day or the latest the next day, no fees, no ATM fees, great Customer Service, amazing interface, and 1.25% on my account compared .025%. Incredible experience.

They have limited cash readily available for cash withdrawals and only 1 physical place to do it...I thought they were a bank? Now here's a difficult issue. If they decide that your card has suspected fraud activity, they will issue you a new one after cancelling the old..but only to address on record. Doesn't do you any good if you're on Christmas break in another state. Unfortunately, I can't teleport myself to San Diego to just get a replacement. Customer service was not accommodating, and buying gifts for the little ones was made near impossible.

Complete joke. They will slap you with fees, their customer service is non-existent, their tech does not work. Stay away.
