Limited customer service, phone service only available during limited hours monday through friday. Way over aggressive anti fraud checking, results in refused charges, and deactivation of your card until they clear it. And in some cases (happened to me, was told by representative it happens about 1% of the time) the card cannot be properly reattached to your account after reactivation and they have to reissue you a new card, taking 5-7 business days, meanwhile your only access to your funds is by going into the branch itself. And there seems to be no urgency to do anything to make it up to the customer when this happens. I insisted that since this was a problem with THEIR system, that they expedite a replacement, and was told that the representative couldn't authorize that, and would have to submit for permission, but couldn't do that while I was on the phone....yeah right. Online and mobile banking setup is excellent. But the lack of on demand online chat customer service or phone service except during business hours is very much a negative in my book.

I'm has bad experience with this bank today, I own my business ,one of Golden 1 customer paid me with a bound check ,after trying contact to that customers with out success, I talked to my bank what can I do because the check under business name ,my bank help me by putting stamp on the back of the check with my name on it they said I can cash them without problems...Finally I find the time to stop by Golden 1 the women on the teller after said hi with out smile she said she can't cash it because under business name even with the stamp on my bank, I said it's okay if there policy, now I asked her if I can deposit back to my bank with out have to pay for another bound check ,she said she can't release the information and keep said I'm sorry, for me sorry doesn't helps anything what so ever all I'm asking is "yes" or "no" she kept her mouth tie ,and this is not the first time I get the bad check, but definitely bad experience with Golden 1 credit union

I would not bank any place else. They are helpful and friendly. They are on point with their fraud and theft detection, usually catching it ahead of the merchants. Online banking is great.

They've been great to me for 15 years. Excellent customer service, and great online banking. When I've screwed up and overdrawn on a couple of occasions they've reversed the overage charges without any drama. I have checking, savings, a reasonable rate platinum Visa, and a mortgage with them, and have no complaints at all.
